Miso Soup with Shima Ebi Heads/シマエビの頭の味噌汁

Japanese Food
It’s nothing to write home about, but I feel inclined to talk a little bit about this: Today, I found shima ebi (Hokkai shrimp) heads sold for 50 yen per pack. I just had to grab two packs. (I sometimes see ama ebi (sweet shrimp) heads sold for the same price at this supermarket, but this is the first time that I have seen shima ebi heads sold there.)
You may not know much about shima ebi. I can tell you they are delicious!
Their long feelers prove that they are fresh ones, not frozen ones.
Miso soup:
The flesh inside the heads is firmer than that of ama ebi.
